NEWBURY 12:55 – Cruiseaweigh

Tom George’s charge was an impressive winner of an Aintree bumper in November but was subsequently pulled up when travelled well enough on his hurdles debut at Sandown 11 days ago.

The fact that he races so soon indicates there were no major concerns and with the trainer and jockeys recent strike rate I would expect Cruiseaweigh to get off the mark.

Cruiseaweigh 2/1 WIN 2.5 points

NEWBURY 2:00 – Drumacoo

Drumacoo hasn’t been seen since 298 days when he was sent off 7/4 fav in a grade 2 chase at Ascot. He finished a disappointing 4th that day but I can happily draw a line through that.

Pauling’s 7 year old has won off a 412 day absence before so I wouldn’t anticipate any concerns there.

Drumacoo has always been held in high regard in Bourton Hill Farm and is reportedly in good order.

Drumacoo 3/1 WIN 2 points

LINGFIELD 12:45 – Sayem

Ed Walkers filly ran well on debut (33/1) when finishing 6th (of 12) at Kempton 14 days ago.

Although she finished 6th, she was only 3.75 lengths off the winner, with a race under her belt and being well drawn in stall 3 I hope she can show enough improvement to go closer.

Sayem 10/1 EW .5 points
