This week we found out that Thistlecrack will go for the King George rather than the Feltham on Boxing Day.

Can the 8 year old novice, who has only run three times over fences, get one over on his 10 year old stable mate.

Cue Card has a 42% win rate over fences and would’ve won the Cheltenham Gold Cup had he not fell 3 out.

Cue Card won this race last year when beating the great Vautour by a head. Ruby Walsh who rode Vautour that day has had plenty to say about this years King George.

Walsh said “It’s a big step up for Thistlecrack – the likely tempo of the race and the quality of this King George field is his biggest test yet over fences.”

So does Ruby think he’s up to the challenge? “I think he’ll prove up to it and if I had the choice I’d ride Thistlecrack..”

Who do you think will win??
